An understandable question. And one that Peter Rampling, Chief Commercial Officer at Community Fibre can answer:
"Many of the fibre deals from other providers come with a hefty price tag. But at Community Fibre, we’ve always been able to offer lower prices and much higher speeds than old standard copper broadband options. This is a game-changer for our customers, especially since our 100% full fibre network provides not only faster speeds but also greater reliability. We know that more households demand better connectivity, and we know you want quality and affordability.
Ultimately, fibre isn't a luxury anymore; it's the new standard no longer measured in 10s of Mbps, or even 100s of Mbps but in how many Gbps are available. And watch out that if they only offer up to 1 Gbps and no more, you need to check whether they are future proofed for 3 Gbps and more".
The average UK download speed is 69.4 Mbps and the average upload speed is 18.4 Mbps. That's according to Ofcom's report on UK Home Broadband Performance (don't worry, we read it so you don't have to). So, how do our broadband fibre deals measure up against that? Pretty well, we think you'll agree:
Our fast fibre broadband speeds | Time taken to download a file of 750 MB | Times faster than the UK average download speed | Times faster than the UK average upload speed |
---|---|---|---|
100 Mbps | 60 seconds | 1.4x | 5x |
300 Mbps | 20 seconds | 4x | 16x |
1 Gbps | 6 seconds | 13x | 50x |
3 Gbps | 2 seconds | 43x | 163x |
Lisa and her husband made the switch to our 1 Gbps full fibre broadband deal and they've been delighted with its speed and reliability – not to mention our excellent service.
Our network is 100% full fibre, which means all our customers get full fibre, with fibre optic cables running directly into your home. This is known as fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) or fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP). It is different from many other fibre providers, where the cables run from the broadband exchange to a cabinet on your street. They then complete the connection from the cabinet to your home via standard copper wires. This is known as part fibre, and the copper wires make for slower speeds and less reliability. That's why our broadband fibre deals are the way forward.
That depends! Are you a big gamer, regularly consuming UHD content, streaming to Twitch and YouTube? Do you use lots of web-based software when working from home? If so, you'll benefit from faster speeds and lower latency offered by our 1 Gbps and 3 Gbps packages. But if you're only a light or moderate internet user, we have 100 Mbps and 300 Mbps full fibre broadband deals that should give you everything you need. But it is important to remember that the speed is shared equally between all the connected devices, so if you have multiple users in a busy household, you'll probably be better off on the 1 Gbps.

Absolutely. If you're purely after an internet-only package, you're in luck – that's our bread and butter. You can add optional extras such as UK calls, TV and Norton™ 360 Premium protection, which come at an additional cost. But if it's just our full fibre broadband you're interested in, and nothing else, that's fine with us.
Yes, all our full fibre broadband deals come with unlimited data. So, you can chat, game, download and stream to your heart's content – and it won't cost more than your usual monthly direct debit.
Once you've chosen your deal, we'll aim to have an engineer out to your home within two days. It won't take them long to get everything up and running – usually within two hours – and then you'll be free to enjoy your new, fast, full fibre broadband. And remember, if you get us to do the switching on your behalf, we won't disconnect your old provider until you're live with us, so you won't be without service.
This can vary. Our advertised speeds are for a single device plugged into your router using a wired (Ethernet) connection. However, things like the distance from the router, wall thickness and interference from other devices can affect your WiFi signal.
So, more speed means more devices from multiple users can connect at the same time without compromising quality.
If you prefer, the convenience of WiFi and need to improve your current signal, our Premium WiFi service is available with our 1 Gbps and 3 Gbps Fibre Broadband can help.
Enjoy whole home coverage, with a minimum 50 Mbps in up to five bedrooms and 12 rooms in total, across a maximum of three floors. If not - we’ll give you three month’s free broadband.
Our service will aim to deliver the speed ranges advertised with our standard broadband packages and our guarantee pays out if we fail to deliver a minimum baseline WiFi speed of 50 Mbps in every room. T&Cs apply. Explore our Premium WiFi.
No, we do not charge line rental on our deals. But we do offer the option to add calls to your bundle, meaning that for £10/month you can make unlimited calls to UK mobiles and landlines.
No, there are no extra fees or charges attached to our full fibre broadband deals. You get free installation, with the router included, and all you have to pay is your monthly direct debit.
We can only accept payment via direct debit, and the money must come from a current account. We cannot accept payment from a cash or savings account. Your first direct debit will be taken three days after you receive your first bill. You'll get your bill on the same day every month, and you'll be paying for the month ahead.
