More than 300,000 customers have signed up to the London-based ISP, which Community Fibre says has demonstrated “the incredible success of the company against established competition which proves that the broadband market is undergoing a major shake up.”

Tuesday 27th August 2024, London: Community Fibre, London’s largest 100% only full fibre network, today announced that it has connected more than 300,000 residents and businesses across the capital.

With a fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network covering 1.3 million properties in London, which is over one-third of homes in the capital, has seen an 85% increase in its customer base in the past 12 months as more people look to alternative networks (Altnets) for faster, more affordable fibre broadband.

The company, which is backed by a finance facility of £985 million, also announced it has been Ebitda positive throughout Q2, news which was warmly welcomed by shareholders Warburg Pincus LLC, DTCP, Railpen and NDIF, and its lenders including recent backers JP Morgan and Barclays.

Commenting on its latest customer milestone, Community Fibre’s Chief Executive Officer Graeme Oxby, said: “Having successfully grown to become the largest 100% only full fibre network in London by far, we’re pleased to announce that more than 300,000 customers have chosen to join Community Fibre for lower prices, faster speeds and a better service.”

"The fact that so many customers have voted with their feet and moved from the large national providers to Community Fibre demonstrates the incredible success we are having. We believe our unwavering focus on consistently delivering the best products, at the lowest prices with the best service versus all comers is the rationale behind our success."

Olaf Swantee, Chairman of Community Fibre added: “The lenders and our shareholders share the view that Community Fibre’s momentum will further strengthen its position as the best and largest FTTH only provider in London.”

Community Fibre’s diverse product portfolio, ranging from 35 Mbps to 10 Gbps, boasts some of the fastest symmetrical download and upload speeds in the country, as well as leading the industry for customer service – an area where Telecom providers traditionally perform poorly.

Commanding over three times more 5-star Trustpilot reviews than Virgin Media, Sky and BT combined₂, Community Fibre was recently recognised by Which?  as the UK’s top-ranked broadband provider (March 2024) in its 2024 customer satisfaction survey, as well as by the Internet Service Provider Association (ISPA) Awards as the UK’s Best Consumer ISP (October 2023) in its category for the fourth consecutive year, and Best Business ISP (October 2023) for the second year in a row.
