Community Fibre upgrades its social tariff broadband from 20 Mbps to 35 Mbps.

Wednesday, 13th September 2023, London UK: Community Fibre, London’s best quality broadband, has upgraded its social tariff broadband, almost doubling in speed from 20 Mbps to 35 Mbps for just £12.50/month.

With same full fibre download and upload speeds, its Essential 35 Mbps social tariff can support multiple connected devices in a home, as well as seamless streaming of Full HD on-demand TV shows.

What is a social tariff?

With people worrying about their finances and bills, the UK Government has worked with internet service providers to deliver low-cost broadband and phone packages called social tariffs. According to Ofcom, 4.2 million UK households are eligible to access one[1].

These discounted broadband deals are usually available for people on Universal Credit and other benefits. However, unlike most other providers, Community Fibre does not ask for proof of income support or government benefits – making it one of the most accessible social broadband tariffs on the market.

At £12.50/month it is also one of the cheapest and is available to residents in London on its network footprint. Its Essentials 35 Mbps package also comes with a Linksys Dual-Band Mesh WiFi 5 router to optimise your WiFi experience[2].

Graeme Oxby, CEO of Community Fibre said: “Getting online is a necessity to lead a normal life in the modern world. If people are priced out of broadband, they won’t be able to carry out essential everyday tasks including applying for jobs, paying bills, or booking medical appointments.

Our Essential tariff is the most accessible social tariff in the country available to anyone, not just those who can prove eligibility. By increasing the speed to 35 Mbps, we ensure more people from the most vulnerable households can benefit from.”

To sign up for Community Fibre, which is rated ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot with over 31,000 5-star reviews (September 2023), new customers can head to communityfibre.co.uk/35-mbps, or speak with a sales representative on 0808 196 6262.
